Rethinking the Lawn, Mitigating Climate Change with Native Plants
Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.  Speaker, Marilynn Torkelson, Wild Ones Prairie Edge   Cost: FREE!

Learn how we can restore essential ecosystem services by converting resource intensive turf grass to beneficial and beautiful habitat in our yards and our communities.  Protecting and creating healthy native plant communities and welcoming the creatures large and microscopic that come to live there, is our best hope to remedy the causes and consequences of environmental damage.  In the words of Lorrie Otto, Wild Ones honorary lifetime director, “If suburbia were landscaped with meadows, prairies, thickets, or forests...then the water would sparkle, fish would be good to eat again, birds would sing and human spirits would soar.”
